Meiners Oaks Water District is hiring a Utility Worker I. This full-time position performs essential duties in the operations and maintenance of water storage, distribution, and service facilities.

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and assigned on-call or standby time
Salary Range: $59,704 – $72,570 annually
Location: 202 W. El Roblar Drive, Ojai, CA 93023

About the Position

Meiners Oaks County Water District is seeking a safety-minded Utility Worker I to help operate and maintain its water system. Duties include meter work, leak repairs, equipment and facility maintenance, data recording, and assigned on-call emergency response.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable with hands-on outdoor work. They communicate professionally, learn quickly, maintain accurate records, and are committed to earning required water operator certifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Class C California driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Successful completion of any District-required pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to obtain Water Distribution Grade 1 and Water Treatment Grade 1 certifications within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to perform essential physical duties.
  • Ability to work assigned on-call shifts within a 30-minute response time.
